Get ready to have the best day EVER! 

Alaska Airlines Aviation Day is structured like a career and education fair with an open format.  The youth participants will be free to choose the activities they want to attend throughout the day. Attendees will receive an “Activities Passport” at check-in, and we strongly encourage each participant to complete all of the items listed. When the passport is completed, they’ll exchange it for a special prize at the end of the day. 

The day’s activities will be hosted at the Alaska Airlines Flight Operations Training Center, the Alaska Airlines Hangar and the Alaska Airlines Hub building.  Participants will be transported to the various event locations by bus.

Seattle Aviation Day Activities:

  • Learn the steps of an airplane preflight check with the pilots that fly them.

  • Tour several military aircraft.

  • Build a glider with a Boeing engineer.

  • Test your mechanical skills with Alaska Airlines airplane mechanics.

  • See the heart of the airline, tour the System Operations Control Center.

  • See how local high school students built an airplane from the ground up with TeenFlight Puyallup.

  • Go on a flight deck tour with Alaska Airlines and Horizon Airlines pilots.

  • Learn about the composites used on the new Boeing airplanes.

  • Take a tour of airport operations from outside the terminal.

  • Learn how Alaska Airlines is saving jet fuel and lowering its carbon footprint.
  • Discover aviation and aerospace educational opportunities from a variety of schools.
  • Meet Port of Seattle Police, Canine Officers and Firefighters
  • Plus many, many more special aviation activities!
